Xingyuan is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech and has joined the LEAPH Lab in Fall 2026 as a rotation student through the BIOTRANS program. His research interests include acoustics, microfluidics, and biosensing for health and environmental monitoring. During his rotation, he is interested in using bioinformatics to explore the genetic information and functional potential of microbial communities.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, and watching movies.
