Sandeep joined LEAPH in Fall 2022. He is an M.S. student in Computer Science at Virginia Tech, co-advised by Dr. Song Li and Dr. Jingqiu Liao. His research is focused on the application of machine learning in the source tracking of human and plant pathogens.

Sandeep received his B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering with minor in Biological Sciences from BITS Pilani in 2021. He worked on drug discovery using machine learning as a Research Assistant at University of British Columbia. As a part of his undergraduate studies at BITS Pilani, he took up projects in social media analytics, machine learning for oncology, data mining, and artificial intelligence. Within the industry, Sandeep has work experience as a Technology Analyst with Deloitte and internship experience as a Software Developer with Synchrony Financial.

In his spare time, he enjoys photography and watching movies.
